Verizon HD cable box, Onkyo receiver, HDMI, green screen?!?

I have verizon HD cable box. I also have a Onkyo receiver(TX-SR576). When connecting HDMI from cable box to to the tv, everything is fine. I get picture and sound(sound through the tv speakers) When I connect the cable box to the onkyo receiver via
