Can I connect Bose Speakers with Onkyo Receiver?

Hey All,
I have an Onkyo HT-SR600 system and am thinking of replacing the Onkyo speakers with the Bose Cubes. Do you think my receiver will be able to power the Bose? Will it be worth spending money on the speakers only or should I just wait and

Your onkyo receiver will power a bose speaker system just fine because the acoustimass comes with a cable that can connect it to any component receiver on the market, and that's how those speakers are to be used anyway. The lifestyle system with the regular

Which A/V home theater receiver is better?

If you look in the Polk or the AVS forums, you’ll realize that there’s a strong debate between Onkyo, Denon, Harmon Kardon, Marantz, and Pioneer receivers.

I have a the Polk Rti series (fronts, surrounds, center), which is being run by an Onkyo 607. The sound is great, but it’s also "bright" at times.

In comparison, and from what I’ve heard, the Pioneer Elites are a little warmer and dynamic when paired with Polk speakers—–which is why I’m saving up for a Pioneer Elite VSX-33 or VSX-23.

In my opinion, if you’re looking for quality over loudness, I’d shoot for the Elite. But before you buy from an online site, remember that Pioneer Elites’ manufacture warranty (usually three years) is not covered if purchased online. The regular Pioneer series is, but the Elite series is not. To verify this, I’d suggest calling Pioneer’s Service and Support line: 1.800.421.1404 (link below)

You should also consider the fact that neither of these receivers support pre-outs, which essentially enables you to add an amplifier later on — adding an amplifier would let you get more power and better sound quality. For the Pioneer, you would need to step up to the Elite VSX-32 to get pre-outs. For the Onkyo, you would need to go up to the Onkyo TX-SR707 or TX-SR708 to get pre-outs.
